You may remember Amy from her feature as Athlete of the Month in March of 2017. Nothing much has changed in terms of how dedicated Amy is to working out, however one major thing has changed in her life... The Fit Crew team was excited to learn that Amy and her husband are expecting!
We decided to feature Amy again, as she's continued to work out consistently throughout her pregnancy, bringing the recommendations of her doctor to the gym and working with trainers to modify workouts to fit her abilities. Her motivation and commitment to health is both inspiring and a great example of how health doesn't have to fully take the back burner, even when life presents challenges, opportunities, and changes.
Congratulations, Amy!Read More
Kurt and Gretchen are two of our longest standing members at the gym. In fact, they were clients of Niels at Lifestyle Family Fitness before Fit Crew even existed! For eleven years, they’ve been consistently coming for workouts at the gym with unwavering focus, determination, and positive attitudes. Kurt and Gretchen are known for encouraging fellow athletes during workouts, even if they have never met them before. We’re proud to have them in our community.Read More
What’s the key to success when it comes to your health? Trusting the process, putting in the work, and repeating. Andre Hendriex’s personal training client, Sherelle, has been inspiring us all at the gym with her persistence and positive attitude. As her trainer says “She’s a quiet, humble, nose to the grindstone type of girl. Once she makes up her mind, that’s it. She’s going to it”. Sherelle has lost 75+ pounds and counting, and her fitness journey has allowed her to stop taking some of her diabetes medication.Read More
Adopting a new lifestyle is difficult, especially when your background isn’t grounded in fitness. Juliana is a testament to the process: when you work hard, believe in the team around you, and are patient, you can achieve things that you never dreamed possible. Currently, Juliana does personal training sessions with Andrew. When asked about her key traits, Andrew said “she has an incredible work ethic. She’s the type that never gives up or complains, and is very optimistic”. In her short time with us, Juliana has accomplished a 24% change with no slowing down in sight. We’re so proud of you and can’t wait to see what else you achieve. Congrats, Juliana!Read More
At the culmination of each year, it’s natural to think of the highs and lows of the year before you and the opportunities that lie ahead. When it came time to nominate our final athlete’s of the month for 2017, two clients came to mind who showed overwhelming strength through adversity as well as ongoing positivity and kindness that never wavered.
Denise and LaVonne continued to move forward, show up, be positive, and fight hard through each of their diagnoses of breast cancer – for that, we are thankful and inspired. They remind us that regardless of chance or circumstance, the will to keep going is powerful. Here’s to both of you and to 2018!Read More
It takes a lot to join a new gym. Whether you’re tied to your gym because of the classes, facilities, trainers, or community, it’s a big decision to move on to the next place when the time comes. It always takes a bit of trial and error as well as trust (and sometimes luck) to find the gym that’s right for you – but when you find “your place” everything just falls into place. This month we wanted to feature three of our newest clients who recently made the decision to follow Ray to Fit Crew and join our community of clients: Marisa Butler, Lissette Serrano, and Monica Simpson.Read More
Diane joined Fit Crew in May of this year as one of Niels’ personal training clients. Over the past five months she has shown an extreme level of dedication and effort, coming to the gym twice a day sometimes while still tending to her family. Mid-October, Diane hit her 50 lb weight loss mark, a huge achievement that was well deserved (and celebrated).
Diane’s positivity is contagious. She’s kind to all and gives encouragement to everyone within the Fit Crew community. We’re so proud of her and happy to have her as part of our gym. Congratulations, Diane! We can’t wait to see what you achieve next.Read More
Alice has been attending Fit Crew’s group classes since 2015 and recently began personal training with Andrew. She always has a smile on her face, has a great attitude, and is compassionate for others – especially dogs. When trainers add more weight to her bar she just laughs and gives it a try. Cardio isn’t her favorite, but still, she never quits. Rarely will you hear Alice push back or say that she can’t do something. She’s also an active member of the Fit Crew community, attending many of our events and participating in in-house competitions. Alice won the 1000m row at our rowing competition and recently PR’ed with a 300lb deadlift at our latest event, a supertotal meet. She is unafraid to give it 110% and is always setting the bar higher. We’re glad to have her with us and are so excited to see all that she will accomplish in the future.Read More
Brett Infanti has been with Fit Crew since 2014. In the three years since Brett joined, he has not missed a month of group classes, consistently showing up with a great attitude and ready to work. His hard work pays off, as recently he hit at 250 lb clean! Brett is intelligent, hardworking, humble, and extremely strong and we’re excited to announce him as the Athlete of the Month.Read More
Jeffrey Gonzalez has been a long time client at the gym and his dedication shows. Two years ago he competed in the Havoc games and finished 2nd, he consistently comes for group classes at least 3 times a week (even after moving from Bradenton to Sarasota), and outside of the gym he continues to live a fit and healthy lifestyle by playing soccer. Jeffrey never cuts corners and genuinely enjoys training. Everyone in the gym knows him for how fast he can finish a workout- he jokes that all that energy comes from drinking Cuban coffee. Recently, Jeffrey has been sharing his love for Fit Crew with his friends and family; we’ve been excited to welcome both his Mom and girlfriend to our gym over the last few months.Read More
Congratulations to Brent and Robin, our first ever Athlete Couple of the Month. To say that they are a hard working duo would be an understatement. They both consistently come to train and always give it 100% when they are in the gym. Recently, Brent was the overall male winner at our super total competition while Robin came in second place out of the women. Brent and Robin are also a strong part of our community, providing support and encouragement to all of our athletes with a smile on their face and setting a great example for not only their own children, but all of our younger athletes.Read More
Renee has been attending our group classes since 2013, and in February she also started training one-on-one with Judy. When asked about Renee, Judy said: “She is hardworking and is focused on her goals, both in and out of the gym. When she comes in to train, she is ready to give it 100%; I have to make her take breaks, or else she would go until she absolutely couldn’t anymore! I can see her confidence growing with each workout she crushes, and her overall demeanor is inspiring. She is goofy in the best way and is makes those around her smile. I couldn’t have thought of a better person to nominate for this month.”Read More
Congratulations to Tricia Bean, who had five #myfitcrewstory entries over the month of March and won the raffle prize of a three-month class pack! All of the entries we received were incredible, so we wanted to take a moment to share some of our favorite entries. The community at our gym is part of what makes it so special and we love learning more about all of our clients, new and old. Our March contest is officially over, but if you still want to share a moment at the gym or the story of how you found Fit Crew, you can always tag us in on Facebook or Instagram, e-mail us, tell us in person, or even comment on this blog.Read More
You likely have seen Michelle training with Andre in the evenings, just as the group classes are wrapping up. Michelle is a dream personal training client- she’s kind, optimistic, and rarely in a bad mood. When she is having a rough day, she doesn’t allow it to slow her down or take away her smile. She is a newer face at Fit Crew, but the amount of work that she puts in at the gym speaks for itself! Michelle has Supraventricular Tachycardia, better known as SVT… This means that her heart rate can be much higher than the average person, especially during times of increased oxygen demand. Despite this, she has been smashing all of her goals and shows no sign of stopping soon.Read More
Amy has been with us just over a year now but she is a well-loved member of our Fit Crew Family. Known for her bubbly personality and positive outlook, Amy always has a smile on her face at the gym, shows determination, and is supportive of everyone around her. Our gym community is made up of individuals who are supportive of one another and have a common goal of wanting more out of life. Amy is a great example of this and we are proud to call her our athlete of the month.Read More
Todd, aka Tomato Todd, is one of Fit Crew’s most memorable athletes. You may know him as the class clown- he wakes up the 5 AM group each morning with dance moves and endless jokes. While the early morning class gets to enjoy Todd’s moves, the rest of us enjoy the boxes of tomatoes that he brings to the gym from the farm.
Todd joined us when Fit Crew was located in a barebones warehouse and stayed with us while we grew into the extensive facility that we call home today. He is extremely consistent in attending classes and always makes an effort to represent the gym wherever he goes- from Bradenton all the way to Mount Kilimanjaro. His athletic background, dedication, and light-hearted nature make him an ideal AOTM candidate. Congratulations, Todd!Read More
